Dear Beverly

-->

Stopped in to say hello.

         You remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal

Change in the weather, again.
That time of year … getting dark earlier.
Can get you down.
How about something to brighten it up,
Some good old rock ‘n’ roll … rock on.

Have a tune for you today that does just that ... enjoy.

Link: Bob Seger: Old Time Rock and Roll

Just take those old records off the shelf
I'll sit and listen to 'em by m'self
Today's music ain't got the same soul
I like that old time rock and roll

Don't try to take me to a Disco
You'll never even get me out on the floor
In 10 minutes I'll be late for the door
I like that old time rock and roll

Still like that old time rock and roll
The kinda music just soothes the soul
I reminisce about the days of old
With that old time rock and roll

Won't go to hear 'em play a Tango
I'd rather hear some blues or funky old soul
There's only one sure way to get me to go
Start playin' old time rock and roll

Call me a relic call me what'cha will
Say I'm old fashioned say I'm over the hill
Today's music ain't got the same soul
I like that old time rock and roll

Still like that old time rock and roll
The kinda music just soothes the soul
I reminisce about the days of old
With that old time rock and roll

Dear Beverly

Just stopped in to say hello.

            Mi Amor, you remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal

What is the human spirit?

Kindness and caring?
Lies, deceit and games?
Love and tenderness?
Control and calculation?

I have to come down on the side of ...
Kindness and caring.
Love and tenderness.

Love without condition is, I think, the mark of the best of us.

Your word is all you have.
Once given, no matter the consequences, it must be honored.
That too, I think, marks the best of us.

Love and honor.

But what of anger and hate?
How does one resolve the conflict that rages within?
How can one not hate the one who filled your world with ...

Lies
Deceit
Control
and Pain

How does one let go of the anger?
Through love?

Have a tune for you today ... enjoy

Rodney Atkins: Honesty

He said, "Just think it over and write me a list so we can figure out what we both deserve"
She hardly could believe it, that their love had come to this
Dividing and deciding his and hers
But she grabbed a paper napkin and asked the waitress for a pen
And one by one she wrote down what she wanted most from him

Honesty, sincerity, tenderness and trust
A little less time for the rest of the world
And more for the two of us
Kisses each mornin' I love you's at night
Just like it used to be
The way life was when you were in love with me

She reached across the table and placed it in his hand
And said, "You know this isn't easy for me"
As he thought about the new car, the house and the land
And wondered what that bottom line would be
And a thousand other things that she'd want him to leave behind
But he never dreamed he'd open up that napkin and find

Honesty, sincerity, tenderness and trust
A little less time for the rest of the world
And more for the two of us
Kisses each mornin' I love you's at night
Just like it used to be
The way life was when you were in love with me

Well, he fought back the tears as he looked in her eyes
And said, "I don't know where to start"
She looked at him and said, "Everything on that list in your hand
is written somewhere in your heart"

Honesty, sincerity just like it used to be
The way life was when you were in love with me

Dear Beverly

-->

Hello, just stopped in to say Hello.

Hi back at ‘ya … you remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal

It’s so incredibly easy to look back down the tunnel of time to see the light.
I could have done this.  Done that.

It is so easy; so very easy.

I could have said, “Let’s have lunch.”
I could have said, “I miss you, it’s been so long, let’s have lunch.”

You see, just simple things would have been enough.
Stop and smell the roses.  It’s not so bad.
Think about the good times.   Lots of good times to think about.
Reach out to your friends, what’s the worst that could have happened?

Like you used to say, “oh wells.”

Have a tune today … all about slowly down and focusing on what is important.
Didn’t do it.  Trying better now.

Hey Mister
Where you going in such a hurry
Don't you think it's time you realized
There's a whole lot more to life than work and worry
The sweetest things in life are free
And there right before your eyes

You got to stop and smell the roses
You've got to count your many blessings everyday
You're gonna find your way to heaven is a rough and rocky road
If you don't stop and smell the roses along the way

Before you went to work this morning in the city
Did you spent some time with your family
Did you kiss your wife and tell her that she's pretty
Did you take your children to your breast and love them tenderly

You got to stop and smell the roses
You've got to count your many blessings everyday
You're gonna find your way to heaven is a rough and rocky road
If you don't stop and smell the roses along the way

Did you ever take a walk through the forest
Stop and dream a while among the trees
Well you can look up through the leaves right straight to heaven
You can almost hear the voice of God
In each any every breeze

You got to stop and smell the roses
You've got to count your many blessings everyday
You're gonna find your way to heaven is a rough and rocky road
If you don't stop and smell the roses along the way

You got to stop and smell the roses
You've got to count your many blessings everyday
You're gonna find your way to heaven is a rough and rocky road
If you don't stop and smell the roses along the way

Were symptoms masked?
Carotid stenosis and the aftermath of the event you experienced at Thanksgiving in 2008 can present in similar fashions.
Reduced blood flow to the brain.
Oh, she’s just confused … give her another pill.
Slurred speech … too much to drink, again.  Right?

A pill for this.
A pill for that.

Was there a pill for being 95% stenosis of the proximal half of the left anterior descending branch?

Was there a pill for being 70% stenosis of the proximal half of the right coronary artery?

Did the pill pushers, I mean doctors, even know?

They couldn’t have known … 95% stenosis of the proximal half of the left anterior descending branch is a heart attack waiting to happen.   That’s emergency room stuff.

Why bother with such things.
You were nothing more than a prisoner being warehoused.
A pill for this.
A pill for that.

And I’m not supposed to be angry?

Anger only begins to describe how I feel about what was done to you.

Sad tune today … sad tune … you called ‘em “tunes.”

Link:   Billy Dean: Somewhere in My Broken Heart

You made up your mind it was time it was over
After we had come so far.
I think there's enough pieces of forgiveness
Some where in my broken heart.

I would not have chosen the road you have taken,
It has left us miles apart.
I think I can still find the will to keep going
Some where in my broken heart.

So fly. Go ahead and fly,
Till you find out who you are.
And I, I will keep my love unspoken
Some where in my broken heart.

I hope that in time you will find what you long for.
Love that's written in the stars.
When you finally do, I think you will see
It's some where in my broken heart.

Girl, I, I will keep my love unspoken
Some where in my broken heart.

I hope that in time you will find what you long for.
Love that's written in the stars.
When you finally do, I think you will see
It's some where in my broken
Some where in my broken
Some where in my broken heart.

Dear Beverly

Stopped by to say that you are in my heart and on my mind.

             You remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Carvajal in Newbury Park, Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal

Time change last night, early but it seems later.
Darkness will come earlier and earlier ... can't say that I like it.

How about some Freddie Mercury and Queen as your tune for today?

          Smile.

Here you go.

Link: Queen: Bohemian Rhapsody

Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide,
No escape from reality.
Open your eyes, Look up to the skies and see,
I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy,
Because I'm easy come, easy go, Little high, little low,
Any way the wind blows doesn't really matter to me, to me.

Mama just killed a man,
Put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger, now he's dead.
Mama, life had just begun,
But now I've gone and thrown it all away.
Mama, ooh, Didn't mean to make you cry,
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow,
Carry on, carry on as if nothing really matters.

Too late, my time has come,
Sends shivers down my spine, body's aching all the time.
Goodbye, ev'rybody, I've got to go,
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth.
Mama, ooh, I don't want to die,
I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all.

I see a little silhouetto of a man,
Scaramouche, Scaramouche, will you do the Fandango.
Thunderbolt and lightning, very, very fright'ning me.
(Galileo.) Galileo. (Galileo.) Galileo, Galileo figaro
Magnifico. I'm just a poor boy and nobody loves me.
He's just a poor boy from a poor family,
Spare him his life from this monstrosity.
Easy come, easy go, will you let me go.
Bismillah! No, we will not let you go.
(Let him go!) Bismillah! We will not let you go.
(Let him go!) Bismillah! We will not let you go.
(Let me go.) Will not let you go.
(Let me go.) Will not let you go. (Let me go.) Ah.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
(Oh mama mia, mama mia.) Mama mia, let me go.
Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me, for me, for me.

So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye.
So you think you can love me and leave me to die.
Oh, baby, can't do this to me, baby,
Just gotta get out, just gotta get right outta here.

Nothing really matters, Anyone can see,
Nothing really matters,
Nothing really matters to me.

Any way the wind blows.

Dear Beverly

Just stopped in to say hello.

         Oh Doll, you remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal

So many questions.
There would always be time to ask them.
There would always be time …

So many things to talk about.
There would always be time to chat.
So many subjects to cover.
So many secrets to let go of.
Share the load, it’s lighter that way.
There would always be time …

Funny how it worked out.
There wasn’t enough time.

We will get together for lunch.
And then, well, not possible.

What was that song from the Little River Band way back then?
Oops, sorry, what was that “tune” from the Little River Band?
“take time to make time” … so true, so true.
When the time runs out there are no more answers … and no more tunes.

It is all just symbolic now.
A “tune” to begin your day ... a tiny symbol to remind you that you were not alone.

You would get up in the morning and log into your email to see what was there.
And between the taunts of hate and belittlements, there would be your “tune.”
A “tune” waiting.  Just waiting for you … country; rock.
Or if you went to the dark side, you’d get the Rubber Ducky song.

Why did you have to read the other emails?  Why?
Just delete the venom.  Why did you let him get inside your head?
Why did you make time for that?
Time is so precious.

Here's that "tune" ...enjoy

Link:  Little River Band: Lady

Look around you, look up here
Take time to make time
Make time to be there
Look around, be a part
Feel for the winter
But don't have a cold heart

And I love you best
You're not like the rest
You're there when I need you
You're there when I need
I'm gonna need you

A long time ago
I had a lady to love
She made me think of things
I never thought of
Now she's gone and I'm on my own
A love song has come into my mind
A love song
It was there all the time

So lady
Let me take a look at you now
You're there on the dance floor
Making me want you somehow
Oh lady
I think it's only fair
I should say to you
Don't be thinkin' that I don't want you
'Cause maybe I do

Look around, come to me
I have no answers
But know where I wanna be
I look around, play a part
I was born in the winter
And cooled by a warm heart

And I love you best
You're not like the rest
You're there when I need you
You're there when I need
I'm gonna need you

So lady
Let me take a look at you now
You're there on the dance floor
Making me want you somehow
Oh lady
I think it's only fair I should say to you
Don't be thinkin' that I don't want you
'Cause maybe I do
Don't be thinkin' that I don't want you
Lady I do

Dear Beverly

I was just thinking about you and came by to say hello.

             Mi Amor, you remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal

Gloomy, overcast day.
Hard to get movin' on days like this.
Your smile could chase these clouds away, I'm certain of that.

Have a tune for you today ... enjoy

Link: Gary Allan: Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)

I saw you standing in the middle of the thunder and lightning
I know you're feeling like you just can't win, but you're trying
It's hard to keep on keepin' on, when you're being pushed around
Don't even know which way is up, just keep spinning down, 'round, down…

Every storm runs, runs out of rain
Just like every dark night turns into day
Every heartache will fade away
Just like every storm runs, runs out of rain

So hold your head up and tell yourself that there's something more
Walk out that door
Go find a new rose, don't be afraid of the thorns
'Cause we all have thorns
Just put your feet up to the edge, put your face in the wind
And when you fall back down, keep on rememberin'

Every storm runs, runs out of rain
Just like every dark night turns into day
Every heartache will fade away
Just like every storm runs, runs out of rain

It's gonna run out of pain
It's gonna run out of sting
It's gonna leave you alone
It's gonna set you free
Set you free

Every storm runs, runs out of rain
Just like every dark night turns into day
Every heartache will fade away
Just like every storm runs, runs out of rain

It's gonna set you free,
It's gonna run out of pain,
It's gonna set you free
