Dear Beverly

Just stopped by to say hello.

             You remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal

Makes you wonder.
How long does it take for your friends to forget you?
They just move on.   "So sad," they say.

Makes you wonder.
How did they define you?
What did they think of you?

Did they know the truth?
Do they even care?
Makes you wonder.

Have a tune for you today ...
If they knew you, then they know this one.   Enjoy.

Link:  Led Zeppelin: Stairway to Heaven

There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven.
When she gets there she knows, if the stores are all closed
With a word she can get what she came for.
Ooh, ooh, and she's buying a stairway to heaven.

There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure
'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings.
In a tree by the brook, there's a songbird who sings,
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven.
Ooh, it makes me wonder,
Ooh, it makes me wonder.

There's a feeling I get when I look to the west,
And my spirit is crying for leaving.
In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees,
And the voices of those who stand looking.
Ooh, it makes me wonder,
Ooh, it really makes me wonder.

And it's whispered that soon if we all call the tune
Then the piper will lead us to reason.
And a new day will dawn for those who stand long
And the forests will echo with laughter.

If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now,
It's just a spring clean for the May queen.
Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on.
And it makes me wonder.

Your head is humming and it won't go, in case you don't know,
The piper's calling you to join him,
Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow, and did you know
Your stairway lies on the whispering wind.

And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul.
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold.
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last.
When all is one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll.

And she's buying a stairway to heaven.

          Mi Amor, you remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal

Wonderful
Sweet
Kind
Funny
Loving

And so much more.

The qualities that define a person.

You don't see cruel or heartless on that list.

Have a tune for you today ... soft, gentle ... enjoy.

Highway run into the midnight sun
Wheels go round and round
You're on my mind
Restless hearts sleep alone tonight
Sending all my love along the wire
They say that the road
ain't no place to start a family
Right down the line it's been you and me
And loving a music man
ain't always what it's supposed to be

Girl
you stand by me
I'm forever yours
faithfully
Circus life under the big top world
We all need the clowns to make us laugh
Through space and time
Always another show
Wodering where I am lost without you
And being a part ain't easy on this love affair
Two strangers learn to fall in love again
I get the joy of rediscovering you

Oh girl
you stand by me
I'm forever yours
faithfully
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
oh oh oh oh oh oh
faithfully
I'm still yours
I'm forever yours
Ever yours
faithfully

Dear Beverly

Just stopped by to say hello.

     Oh Doll, you remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal

Spent time yesterday
with family.

Saw Les Miserables.
It was wonderful.

There were moments when I thought of you.
Sad moments
Sad memories.

Have a tune for you today.

"when your hourglass runs out of sand
You can't flip over and start again"

Oh, just to have that power for one day.

Enjoy.

I turned on the evening news
Saw a old man being interviewed
Turning a hundred and two today
Asked him what's the secret to life
He looked up from his old pipe
Laughed and said "All I can say is."

Don't blink
Just like that you're six years old and you take a nap and you
Wake up and you're twenty-five and your high school sweetheart becomes your wife
Don't blink
You just might miss your babies growing like mine did
Turning into moms and dads next thing you know your better half
Of fifty years is there in bed
And you're praying God takes you instead
Trust me friend a hundred years goes faster than you think
So don't blink

I was glued to my TV and it looked like he looked at me and said
"Best start putting first things first."
Cause when your hourglass runs out of sand
You can't flip over and start again
Take every breathe God gives you for what it's worth

I've been try'n to slow it down
I've been try'n to take it in
In this here today gone tomorrow world we're livin' in

Now, don't blink

Dear Beverly

On this Christmas day you are in my heart and on my mind.

           Mi Amor, you remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal

Christmas, a time of joy.
Your three kids will be missing you today.

I feel for them.

But no sadness today.
Or anger.
Christmas, a time of joy.
A day to celebrate a life.

Have a tune for you today
One of your favorites ... enjoy

Link: Carolina Liar: I'm Not Over

What a waste of time, the thought crossed my mind
But I never missed a beat
Can't explain the who or what I was
Trying to believe
What would you do?
What would you do?
Do you know?
I once had a grip on everything
It feels better to let go

I'm not over
I'm not over you just yet
Cannot hide it
You're not that easy to forget
I'm not over

Never took the chance, could've jump the fence
I was scared of my own two feet
Couldn't cross the line, it was black and white
No contrast to be seen
What would you do?
What would you do?
Do you know?
Was it all a joke, never had control
I'm not better on my own

I'm not over
I'm not over you just yet
Cannot hide it
You're not that easy to forget
I'm not over

What a waste of time
The thought crossed my mind
Can't explain this thing, or what I mean
I'm trying to let go

I'm not over
I'm not over you just yet
Cannot hide it
You're not that easy to forget
I'm not over
I'm not over you just yet
Cannot hide it
You're not that easy to forget
I'm not over
I'm not over

Dear Beverly

Just stopped by to say hello.

           You remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal

Spend yesterday afternoon with your son
at your place of rest.

We shared the time in conversation.
Stories.  Memories.   Love.

I read the poem "Dreams"
that I had written for you.

I gave a copy to your son.
I placed my copy at your site.
It will be gone soon.
Doesn't matter, you are not there.

You are in our memories.
You are in our hearts.

Yesterday was not a time for anger.
It was not a time for sadness.

Have a tune for you today ... "When the summer rolls around
And the sun starts sinking down
I still remember you"

So true, so true.  We will remember you.

Link:  Lady Antebellum: We Owned The Night

Tell me have you ever wanted
Someone so much it hurts?
Your lips keep trying to speak
But you just can't find the words
Well I had this dream once;
I held it in my head

She was the purest beauty
But not the common kind
She had a way about her
That made you feel alive
And for a moment
We made the world stand still

Yeah, we owned the night

You had me dim the lights;
You danced just like a child
The wine spilled on your dress

And all you did was smile
Yeah, it was perfect
I hold it in my mind

Yeah, we owned the night

When the summer rolls around
And the sun starts sinking down
I still remember you
Oh, I remember you
And I wonder where you are

Are you looking at those same stars again?
Do you remember when?

We woke under a blanket
All tangled up in skin
Not knowing in that moment
We'd never speak again
But it was perfect;
I never will forget
When we owned the night

Yeah, we owned the night

Dear Beverly

Just stopped in to say how much I miss you.

         Oh Doll, you remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal

Road trip today.
A special day.

Rewrote Dreams for today's journey (a few little changes).

Dreams.
You must have had your share.

Did you dream of love?
And kindness?

Did you dream of fields of flowers?
Were there gentle summer breezes in your dreams?

Did you dream of laughing hearts
And friends that called your name?
Were some full of smiling faces?

Did you dream of places?
Or, did you dream of things?

Did you dream that you were not alone?
That you were loved?
Did you yearn for sleep to dream those dreams?

So many dreams to dream,
Did you have enough?
Enough to fill your heart?

Were they big dreams?
Peace throughout the world?
Little dreams of sweetness on your lips?

Did you dream of sounds?
Waves crashing on the shore?
The joyful noise of song birds singing?

Did you dream of love?
And warmth?
Kind words and thoughtful phrases?

Did you dream of things you hoped for?
Was “Mom … I love you!”
Counted in your dreams?

Dreams.
Sweet dreams.

Have a tune for you today.
One about dreams and dreaming from Les Miserables.
Enjoy.

Fantine:

There was a time when men were kind
When their voices were soft
And their words inviting

There was a time when love was blind
And the world was a song
And the song was exciting

There was a time
Then it all went wrong
I dreamed a dream in times gone by
When hope was high
And life worth living

I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving
Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid

No song unsung
No wine untasted

But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hope apart
And they turn your dream to shame

He slept a summer by my side
He filled my days with endless wonder
He took my childhood in his stride
But he was gone when autumn came

And still I dream he'll come to me
That we'll live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather

I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed
The dream I dreamed.

Dearly Beverly

Just stopped by to say that you are in my heart and on my mind.

            Mi Amor, you remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal

Long day ahead.

Wanted to let you know that road trip is all set for tomorrow.

In the meantime I have a tune for you today.

It's a fun one from your favorite, Toby Keith ... enjoy.

Link: Toby Keith: Red Solo Cup

Now red solo cup is the best receptacle
From barbecues, tailgates, fairs and festivals
And you sir do not have a pair of testicles
If you prefer drinkin' from glass

Hey red solo cup is cheap and disposable
In fourteen years they are decomposable
And unlike my home they are not foreclosable
Freddie Mac can kiss my ass, woo!

Red solo cup, I fill you up
Let's have a party, let's have a party
I love you red solo cup, I lift you up,
Proceed to party, proceed to party

Now I really love how you're easy to stack
But I really hate how you're easy to crack
Cause when beer runs down, in front of my back
Well, that, my friends, is quite yucky

But I have to admit that the ladies get smitten
Admirin' at how sharply my first name is written
On you with a Sharpie when I get to hittin'
On them, to help me get lucky

Red solo cup, I fill you up
Let's have a party, let's have a party
I love you red solo cup, I lift you up,
Proceed to party, proceed to party

Now I've seen you in blue and I've seen you in yellow
But only you red will do for this fellow
Cause you are the Abbott into my Costello
And you are the Fruit to my Loom

Red solo cup, you're more than just plastic
More than amazing, you're more than fantastic
And believe me that I'm not the least bit sarcastic
When I look at you and say:
"Red solo cup, you're not just a cup (No, no, God no)
You're my friend, yea (Lifelong)
Thank you for being my friend"

Red solo cup, I fill you up
Let's have a party, let's have a party
I love you red solo cup, I lift you up,
Proceed to party, proceed to party

Red solo cup, I fill you up
Let's have a party, let's have a party
I love you red solo cup, I lift you up,
Proceed to party, proceed to party
