Dear Beverly

Just stopped in to say how much I miss you.

            Mi Amor, you remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal

It is always the little things
that trigger; set off the memories.
A tune; a thought …
not sure if it is good or bad.
Can’t be bad.

I try to stay away from
the third rail of anger; of hate.
It can consume … I know that.

Have a tune for you today …
Upbeat; fun … enjoy.

You were raised on an asphalt farm
Ain't never heard a rooster crow
Never walked barefoot by a river
Felt the mud up between your toes

You never rolled in the hay
You never thrown it in four wheel
Climb up on here girl
Let me show you how country feels

Let your hair down, hair down
Get you some of this laid on back
Kick your shoes off, kick 'em off
Get you some of this slow down fast
I'll take you up and down these hollers and hills
Let me show you how country feels

You ever watched the sun go down
From the bed of a pickup truck
Ever been so into somebody
You're still lying there when it comes back up

Girl what do you say?
Cut a path through that cornfield
Park down by the water
Let me show you how country feels

Let your hair down, hair down
Get you some of this laid on back
Kick your shoes off, kick 'em off
Get you some of this slow down fast
I'll take you up and down these hollers and hills
Let me show you how country feels

Let your hair down
Get you some of this laid on back
Kick your shoes off (Kick your shoes off)

Let your hair down, hair down
Get you some of this laid on back
Kick your shoes off, kick 'em off
Get you some of this slow down fast
I'll take you up and down these hollers and hills
Let me show you how country feels

Cold.
How many more days until
the giant rodent sees his shadow?

Can’t come fast enough.

Have a tune for you today.
Something soft and sweet.
Enjoy.

Here I am playing with those memories again
And just when I thought time had set me free
Those thoughts of you keep taunting me

Holding you, a feeling I never outgrew
Though each and every part of me has tried
Only you can fill that space inside

So there's no sense pretending
My heart it's not mending

Just when I thought I was over you
And just when I thought I could stand on my own
Oh baby those memories come crashing through
And I just can't go on without

On my own I've tried to make the best of it alone
I've done everything I can to ease the pain
But only you can stop the rain

I just can't live without you
I miss everything about you

Just when I thought I was over you
And just when I thought I could stand on my own
Oh baby those memories come crashing through
And I just can't go on without
Go on without
It's just no good without you

Feel like I've been run over.
Stopped raining.    Sun is out.
Cats happy.   Wish I was.
Maybe I'll go back to bed.
Yuck.

Have a tune for you today ... enjoy.

There's a new wind blowin' like I've never known
I'm breathin' deeper than I've ever done
And it sure feels good, to finally feel the way I do

Now, I wanna love somebody
Love somebody like you

An' I'm lettin' go of all my lonely yesterdays
I've forgiven myself for the mistakes I've made
Now there's just one thing, the only thing I wanna do, mmm, mmm

I wanna love somebody
Love somebody like you

Yeah, I wanna feel the sunshine
Shinin' down on me and you
When you put your arms around me
You let me know there's nothing in this world I can't do

I used to run in circles goin' no-where fast
I'd take, uh, one step forward and two steps back
Couldn't walk a straight line even if I wanted to, mmm, mmm

I wanna love somebody
Love somebody like you
Whoa here we go now

Yeah, I wanna feel the sunshine
Shinin' down on me and you
When you put your arms around me
Well, baby there ain't nothing in this world I can't do

Sometimes it's hard for me to understand
But you're teachin' me to be a better man
I don't want to take this life for granted like I used to do, no, no

I wanna love somebody
Love somebody like you
I'm ready to love somebody
Love somebody like you, ooh

An' I wanna love somebody
Love somebody like you, yeah

Oh yeah oh, I wanna be the man in the middle of the night
Shinin' like it's true
I wanna be the man that you run to whenever I call on you
When everything that loved someone finally found it's way
Wanna be a better man, I see it in you, yeah, yeah, yeah

Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, you wanna believe it

Dark, rainy ... sun not up yet.
A few moments to reflect.
Memories to play with.

Hard not to be sad on such a dreary day.

Have a tune for you today ...
A fun one ... enjoy.

Link:  Ray Stevens: Everything is Beautiful

Jesus loves the little children
All the little children of the world
Red and yellow, black and white
They are precious in his sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

Everything is beautiful
In its' own way
Like a starry summer night
Or a snow covered winter's day
Everybody's beautiful
In their own way
Under God's heaven
The world's gonna find a way

There is none so blind
That is he who will not see
We must not close our minds
We must let our thought be free
For every hour that passes by
You know the world
Gets a little bit older
It's time to realize
That beauty lies
In the eyes of the beholder

Everything is beautiful
In its' own way
Like a starry summer nights
Or a snow covered winter's day
Ah, sing it children
Everybody's beautiful
In their own way
Under God's heaven
The world's gonna find a way

We shouldn't care
About the length of his hair
Or the color of his skin
Don't worry about
what shows from without
but the love that lives within
We're gonna get it all together now
Everything gonna work out fine
Just take a little time
to look on the good side my friend
And straighten it out in your mind

Everything is beautiful
In its' own way
Like a starry summer nights
Or a snow covered winter's day
Ah, sing it children
Everybody's beautiful
In their own way
Under God's heaven
The world's gonna find a way

One more time
Everything is beautiful
In its' own way
Like a starry summer nights

Dear Beverly

Just stopped by to say that you are in my heart this early morning.

           Doll, you remembered me.

Always.

Less than a month until
the pitchers and catchers report.

Couldn't tell it from the weather
in most of the country,
but baseball is right the corner.

Have a tune for you today ... enjoy.

Got on board a westbound 747
Didn't think before deciding what to do
Ooh, that talk of opportunities
TV breaks and movies
Rang true
Sure rang true

Seems it never rains in southern California
Seems I've often heard that kind of talk before
It never rains in California
But girl don't they warn ya
It pours, man it pours

Out of work, I'm out of my head
Out of self respect, I'm out of bread
I'm underloved, I'm underfed, I wanna go home
It never rains in California
But girl don't they warn ya
It pours, man it pours

Will you tell the folks back home I nearly made it
Had offers but didn't know which one to take
Please don't tell 'em how you found me
Don't tell 'em how you found me
Gimme a break, give me a break

Seems it never rains in southern California
Seems I've often heard that kind of talk before
It never rains in California
But girl don't they warn ya
It pours, man it pours

Dear Beverly

Rain is back.   Dreary.

A few sunny minutes in the park
by the Stagecoach Inn Museum would be nice.

Lunch and then there.
For some reason you just loved it.
Quiet.  Nice.
We sit at the picnic table and talked.

A few sunny minutes today, in that park
would be nice.

Have a tune for you today ... enjoy.

Link:   Sarah McLachlan: Possession

Listen as the wind blows from across the great divide
voices trapped in yearning, memories trapped in time
the night is my companion, and solitude my guide
would I spend forever here and not be satisfied?

And I would be the one
to hold you down
kiss you so hard
I'll take your breath away
and after, I'd wipe away the tears
just close your eyes dear

Through this world I've stumbled
so many times betrayed
trying to find an honest word to find
the truth enslaved
oh you speak to me in riddles
and you speak to me in rhymes
my body aches to breathe your breath
your words keep me alive

And I would be the one
to hold you down
kiss you so hard
I'll take your breath away
and after, I'd wipe away the tears
just close your eyes dear

Into this night I wander
it's morning that I dread
another day of knowing of
the path I fear to tread
oh into the sea of waking dreams
I follow without pride
nothing stands between us here
and I won't be denied

And I would be the one
to hold you down
kiss you so hard
I'll take your breath away
and after, I'd wipe away the tears
just close your eyes...

Dear Beverly

You are in my heart and on my mind this morning.

          You remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal

The tears have long since dried.
Even on the bad days.
I have learned how to smile; to laugh;
even how to say a prayer or two.

“Lord, please give this angel love.”
That seems to work at easing the pain.

“Lord, show her warmth and kindness.”
That seems to make the sun shine just a little brighter.

Amazing how that works.

Maybe it is an illusion,
but it doesn't cost much to say,
“Lord, show her warmth and kindness.”

I’ve learned to slow things down too.
Flowers for my love.
A kindness here and there; it don’t cost much either.
Don’t cost much at all.

I have learned that it don’t cost much
to say hello to strangers.
Why it is next to nothing at all to smile
and ask, “how goes your day?”

“Lord, how goes your day?”

You wonder if anyone asks that question.
Makes you wonder; something to think about.

“Lord, how goes your day … and please take care
of our special angel.”

Have a tune for you today …

Love's the only house big enough for all the pain”

… enjoy.

I was standing in the grocery store line
The one they marked express
When this woman came through with about 25 things
And I said don't you know that more is less
She said this world is movin' so fast
I just get more behind with every day
And every mornin' when I make my coffee
I can't believe my life's turned out this way
All I could say was

Love's the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Love's the only house big enough for all the pain

He was walkin' by the other day and I said
Hey baby...how you been
Yeah I got me a little girl now and she's 4 years old
And she's got her daddy's little grin
And you only wanted what you can't have
And baby you can't have me now
I gave me heart to another
Yeah I'm a mother and he's a father and we're a family and we got each other
And I found out the hard way that

Love's the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Love's the only house big enough for all the pain

You drive three miles from all this prosperity
Down across the river and you see a ghetto there
And we got children walking around with guns
And they got knives and drugs and pain to spare
And here I am in my clean white shirt
With a little money in my pocket and a nice warm home
And we got teenagers walkin' around in a culture of darkness
Livin' together alone...all I can

Love's the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Love's the only house big enough for all the pain

And I can't explain it and I can't understand
But I'll come down and get my hands dirty and together we'll make a stand
Somewhere 'cross the parking lot some bands playin' out of tune
City streets are gonna burn if we don't do something soon
And senorita can't quit cryin’ baby's due now any day
Don Juan left got sick of trying
No one there to show him the way
She came down to the grocery store and she said I
I wanna buy a little carton of milk but I don't have any money
I said hey I'll cover you honey 'cause the pain's gotta go somewhere
Yeah the pain's gotta go someplace
So come on down to my house
Don't you know that

Love's the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Love's the only house big enough for all the pain

Don't you know that
Love's the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Love's the only house big enough for all the pain
