Sorry, that five-run eighth did your boys in.
Padres 9 … your Dodgers 3.
You didn’t lose any ground … still a ½ game out.

Have a tune for you today … enjoy.

Like your dreams were meant to fly, like a bird up in the sky
Just like Heaven's somewhere up above clouds
I was made to raise my voice, lift my hands up and rejoice
Just like Jesus they couldn't keep him down low

Like the way your mama felt the very first time you were held
The way your daddy still looks at your mama now
Ain't that the way that love should be? Gets you high, makes you believe
There's nothing in this world can get us down low

I'm gonna roll this stone away
Live my life my way and stand up on my faith
Just like the sun rises every day
The tide is gonna change
You can't keep me low

Now when my worries seem too big, I'm gonna dance like David did
'Cause hallelujah I am glory bound
No, I won't be afraid when trouble gets in my face
I'll turn my back and stomp that devil down low

Oh, I'm gonna roll this stone away
Live my life my way and stand up on my faith
Just like the sun rises every day
The tide is gonna change
You can't keep me low

I won't let my dreams get buried even when I'm feeling down
I won't linger in the darkness, I'll be walking out!

I'm gonna roll this stone away
Let the light shine on my face and stand up on my faith
Just like the sun rises every day
The tide is gonna change

Oh, I'm gonna roll this stone away
Live my life my way and stand up on my faith
Just like the sun rises every day
The tide is gonna change
You can't keep me low
No, you can't keep me low

Dear Beverly

-->

Just stopped by to say hello.

        You remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal

Good news, my boys didn’t play yesterday
and yet they moved up in the standings.

When you consider how badly
they have been playing,
not playing could be a good strategy.

We open at home tonight against your boys.
You know the rules.

I pull for the Padres
and you root, root, root
for your beloved Dodgers.

I do thank God for one thing,
at least you were not an Angel fan.
If that were the case
my boys wouldn’t stand a chance.

Have a tune for you today.

You would listen to his “Moments” album.
Over and over again.
Wonder what the attraction was?

And then saw him in concert.
And their we were at Denny’s
after midnight, and he walks in.
You were like a little kid.
Oh, how you loved your tunes.

Here’s one from “Moments” … enjoy.

I never dreamed
I never dreamed before I started
That I'd chosen such a hard hard road to choose
Farewell sweet dreams
But now it seems
That I will forever sing the blues
Hey that I will forever sing the blues

Hey lookin back
It could have been predicted
Yes lookin back
It could easily have been foretold
Oh but we were blind
And who at that time
Who was worried 'bout the winter and cold mmmm
Who was worried 'bout the winter and the cold mmm
Well alright!

Well excuse me if you catch me feelin sorry
If my smile gets hidden behind last night's headlines
Well it's not good news
But I'll sing the blues
Life keeps getting harder all the time
Yes life keeps getting harder yeah all the time
Yes life keeps getting harder yeah all the time
All the time yeah

Whoah all the time

Yeah just keep on yeah
Just keep on yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
All the time... all the time
It just keeps on yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
All the time... whoah all the time
Whoah alright yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Alright yeah

Dear Beverly

Just stopped by to say hello.

        You remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal, Beverly Ann Carvajal Dodger Fan

A touch of rain.

Street outside is slick,
but no one is slowing down.

Your boys swept
the Pirates over the weekend.

You would be happy.

Have a tune for you today … enjoy.

Trying to live and love,
With a heart that can't be broken,
Is like trying to see the light with eyes that can't be opened.
Yeah, we both carry baggage,
We picked up on our way, so if you love me do it gently,
And I will do the same.

We may shine, we may shatter,
We may be picking up the pieces here on after,
We are fragile, we are human,
We are shaped by the light we let through us,
We break fast, cause we are glass.
Cause we are glass.

I'll let you look inside me, through the stains and through the cracks,
And in the darkness of this moment,
You see the good and bad.
But try not to judge me, 'cause we've walked down different paths,
But it brought us here together, so I won't take that back.

We may shine, we may shatter,
We may be picking up the pieces here on after,
We are fragile, we are human,
We are shaped by the light we let through us,
We break fast, cause we are glass.

We might be oil and water, this could be a big mistake,
We might burn like gasoline and fire,
It's a chance we'll have to take.

We may shine, we may shatter,
We may be picking up the pieces here on after,
We are fragile, we are human,
And we are shaped by the light we let through us,
We break fast, cause we are glass.
We are glass.

Dear Beverly

Just stopped by to say hello.

          You remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal Dodger Fan, Clayton Kershaw

Gloomy day … overcast.
Cats unsure.  In or out?

Five games in and already three back.
Gloomy prospects … long summer.

Your boys won again last night.
Clayton Kershaw is pitching like Sandy Koufax.
Two games, no runs … two wins … ERA: 0.00.

You’d be so happy with all of those zeros.

Have a tune for you today … enjoy.

It can make you cry, it can make you laugh
Give you feelings that you've never had
Make the worst of times just fade away
Help you find the words that you don't know how to say

The power of a love song
Can make you believe
The power of a love song
It can change everything
It can right every wrong, help you hold on
Even when all hope is gone

It can take you back to that first time
When you both looked in each other's eyes
You say I do, then take her hand
Slowly start to sway for that first dance

The power of a love song
Can make you believe
The power of a love song
It can change everything
It can right every wrong, help you hold on
Even when all hope is gone
The power of a love song

The power of a love song
Can make you believe
The power of a love song
It can change everything
It can right every wrong, help you hold on
Even when all hope is gone

It's the power of a love song

It can make you cry, it can make you laugh
Give you feelings that you've never had

Dear Beverly

Just stopped in to say hello.

       Oh Doll, you remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal, Beverly Carvajal

Been a little morose of late.
Must snap out of that.

Does little good to reflect
on what might have been.

Last place all to my boys.
Your Dodgers pitched a gem last night.

Have a tune for you today …

“Though it's been a while now
I can still feel so much pain
Like a knife that cuts you the wound heals
but the scar, that scar remains”

So true … enjoy.

We both lie silently still
In the dead of the night
Although we both lie close together
We feel miles apart inside

Was it something I said or something I did
Did the words not come out right
Though I tried not to hurt you
Though I tried
But I guess that's why they say

Every rose has its thorn
Just like every night has its dawn
Just like every cowboy sings his sad, sad song
Every rose has its thorn

Yeah it does

I listen to our favorite song
playing on the radio
Hear the DJ say loves a game of easy come and easy go
But I wonder does he know
Has he ever felt like this
And I know that you'd be here somehow
If I could have let you know somehow
I guess

Every rose has its thorn
Just like every night has its dawn
Just like every cowboy sings his sad, sad song
Every rose has its thorn

Though it's been a while now
I can still feel so much pain
Like a knife that cuts you the wound heals
but the scar, that scar remains

I know I could have saved a love that night
If I'd known what to say
Instead of makin' love
We both made our separate ways

But now I hear you found somebody new
and that I never meant that much to you
To hear that tears me up inside
And to see you cuts me like a knife
I guess

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal

Ha Ha, pretty funny,
your boys and my boys
are both in last place.

Three games in … one and two.

Have a tune for you today …
pretty much says it all.

You were never alone,
but you felt that way.

I know hindsight's 20/20, but I still don't understand ...”

You called to say goodbye,
but I didn’t know it was goodbye.

“How do you get that lonely, how do you hurt that bad
To make you make the call, that havin' no life at all
Is better than the life that you had
How do you feel so empty, you want to let it all go
How do you get that lonely... and nobody knows”

I didn’t know it was goodbye,
it haunts me to this day.
When will the pain stop?
When will the hurt go away?

It was just another story printed on the second page
Underneath the Tiger's football score
It said he was only eighteen, a boy about my age
They found him face down on his bedroom floor

There'll be services on Friday at the Lawrence Funeral Home
Then out on Mooresville highway, they'll lay him 'neath a stone...

How do you get that lonely, how do you hurt that bad
To make you make the call, that havin' no life at all
Is better than the life that you had
How do you feel so empty, you want to let it all go
How do you get that lonely... and nobody knows

Did his girlfriend break up with him, did he buy or steal that gun?
Did he lose a fight with drugs or alcohol?
Did his Mom and Daddy forget to say I love you son?
Did no one see the writing on the wall?

I'm not blamin' anybody, we all do the best we can
I know hindsight's 20/20, but I still don't understand...

How do you get that lonely, how do you hurt that bad
To make you make the call, that havin' no life at all
Is better than the life that you had
How do you feel so empty, you want to let it all go
How do you get that lonely... and nobody knows

It was just another story printed on the second page
Underneath the Tiger's football score...

Dear Beverly

June gloom in April.
Cat asleep in my lap.
No need to rush outside just yet.

Those nasty Giants beat
your boys 5-3 last night.

Sorry, we won’t talk about mine.
Pitching staff has given up
19 runs in just two games.

Have a tune for you today … enjoy.

Brady was a baseball star
Til he struck out and took his car and drove away
Sissy lost her little boy
Hitch-hiked up to Illinois, so they say

Then it rained so hard that Mary tried
To take her life with suicide
And disappear just like the thunder
You ask around and no-one knows
Where they went or what they do
But you wonder, I know you wonder

Where do they go?
They come here
To drown in their sorrow and cry in their beer
They’re in need of a mindbender
I’m a bartender
At the end of the day
I’m all they’ve got
Hope on the rocks

Charlie’s wife filed for divorce
And Charlie bought a quarter horse and now he's ridin' fences,
Upside down and couldn’t pay
They hauled Sue's mobile home away
And we ain’t seen her since
Larry’s long time fiancé
Got kicked out of the P.T.A.
And moved her kids back east with someone else
All and the ones you used to know
Don’t drop in or say hello
But you ask yourself
I know you ask yourself

Where do they go?
They come here
To drown in their sorrow and cry in their beer
They’re in need of a mindbender
I’m a bartender
At the end of the day
I’m all they’ve got
Hope on the rocks

Where do they go?
They come here
To drown in their sorrow and cry in their beer
They’re in need of a mindbender
I’m a bartender
At the end of the day
I’m all they’ve got
Hope on the rocks
