Dear Beverly

Just stopped by to say that your memory remains within my heart.

          Mi Amor, you remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal, Beverly Carvajal, Beverly Kegley, Ralph Tribbey

Lovely morning.
Cats out frolicking.

Long day, must get to it.

But just wanted to take
a moment or two to reflect.

Each blessing is to be celebrated.
Time is so short.

Slow down, reflect.

Have a tune for you today

Too many times we stand aside
And let the waters slip away”

So true, so true.

… enjoy.

You know a dream is like a river
Ever changin' as it flows
And a dreamer's just a vessel
That must follow where it goes
Trying to learn from what's behind you
And never knowing what's in store
Makes each day a constant battle
Just to stay between the shores...

And, I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
Like a bird upon the wind
These waters are my sky
I'll never reach my destination
If I never try
So I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry

Too many times we stand aside
And let the waters slip away
'Til what we put off 'til tomorrow
Has now become today
So don't you sit upon the shoreline
And say you're satisfied
Choose to chance the rapids
And dare to dance the tide...

Yes, I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
Like a bird upon the wind
These waters are my sky
I'll never reach my destination
If I never try
So I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry

There's bound to be rough waters
And I know I'll take some falls
But with the good Lord as my captain
I can make it through them all...

Yes, I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
Like a bird upon the wind
These waters are my sky
I'll never reach my destination
If I never try
So I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry

Yes, I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
'Til the river runs dry

Dear Beverly

Just stopped by to say hello.

        You remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal, Beverly Carvajal, Ralph Tribbey, Lomita California

You walked along 2-4-7
on your way home from school.

Singing your tunes,
A transistor radio
pressed to your ear.

Somewhere along
the way you fell
in love with music.

Was it on a cloudy day?
A sunny day?

Was it all at once?
Or over time?

Doesn’t matter …

You called them tunes.

Years later you would drive,
radio on, singing along.

You loved your tunes.

No one had the
right to hurt you.

I have a tune for you today … enjoy.

Busted flat in Baton Rouge, waiting for a train
And I's feeling nearly as faded as my jeans.
Bobby thumbed a diesel down just before it rained,
It rode us all the way to New Orleans.

I pulled my harpoon out of my dirty red bandanna,
I was playing soft while Bobby sang the blues.
Windshield wipers slapping time, I was holding Bobby's hand in mine,
We sang every song that driver knew.

Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose,
Nothing don't mean nothing honey if it ain't free, now now.
And feeling good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues,
You know feeling good was good enough for me,
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee.

From the Kentucky coal mines to the California sun,
Hey, Bobby shared the secrets of my soul.
Through all kinds of weather, through everything that we done,
Hey Bobby baby kept me from the cold.

One day up near Salinas, Lord, I let him slip away,
He's looking for that home and I hope he finds it,
But I'd trade all of my tomorrows for one single yesterday
To be holding Bobby's body next to mine.

Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose,
Nothing, that's all that Bobby left me, yeah,
But feeling good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues,
Hey, feeling good was good enough for me, hmm hmm,
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee.

La la la, la la la la, la la la, la la la la
La la la la la Bobby McGee.
La la la la la, la la la la la
La la la la la, Bobby McGee, la.

La La la, la la la la la la,
La La la la la la la la la, hey now Bobby now Bobby McGee yeah.
Na na na na na na na na, na na na na na na na na na na na
Hey now Bobby now, Bobby McGee, yeah.

Lord, I'm calling my lover, calling my man,
I said I'm calling my lover just the best I can,
C'mon, where is Bobby now, where is Bobby McGee, yeah,
Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lord
Hey, hey, hey, Bobby McGee, Lord!

Yeah! Whew!

Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lord
Hey, hey, hey, Bobby McGee.

Dear Beverly

-->

Just stopped by to say hello.

        You remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal, Beverly Carvajal, Ralph Tribbey

Bittersweet spending
a few moments
with you yesterday.

It is so incredibly sad.
It is so very wrong.

I know you are not there.
But still, there is some
comfort in the symbolism
of the moment.

Off in the distance
I could see the harbor.
Ships coming and going
from all around the world.
Places you never
had a chance to go.

A nice view.
A sad view.

But you are not there.
You are here,
in my heart.

Always.

Have a tune for you today

I've talked to friends
Talked to myself
Talked to god
I prayed like hell
But I still miss you”

… enjoy.

Beverly Ann Carvajal, Beverly Carvajal, Beverly Ann Kegley, Ralph Tribbey

I've changed the presets to my truck,
So those old songs don't sneak up.
But they still find me
And remind me
Yeah you come back that easy.
I've tries restaurants I've never been to
Ordered new things off the menu
That i never tried
'Cause you didn't like,
but two drinks in and you're by my side

I've talked to friends
Talked to myself
Talked to god
I prayed like hell
But I still miss you
I tried sober I tried drinkin'
I've been strong and I've been weak
But I still miss you.
I've done everything move on like I'm supposed to
I'd give anything for one more minute with you
I still miss you
I still miss you baby

I never knew til you were gone
How many pages you were on
It never ends I keep turning
And line after line and you are there again
I don't know how to let you go
You are so deep down in my soul
I feel helpless so hopeless
Its a door that never closes
No I don't know how to do this

I've talked to friends
Talked to myself
Talked to god
I prayed like hell
But i still miss you
I tried sober I tried drinkin'
I've been strong and I've been weak
But I still miss you.
I've done everything move on like I'm supposed to
I'd give anything for one more minute with you
I still miss you
I still miss you baby

I've talked to friends
I've talked to myself
I've talked to God
I prayed liked hell but I still miss you
I tried sober I tried drinking
I've been strong and I've been weak
And I still miss you
I've done everything
Move on like I'm supposed to
I'd give anything for one more minute with you
I still miss you yeah

I still miss you
I still miss you...... yeah.... yeah.....

Dear Beverly

Just stopped by to say hello.

         You remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal, Ralph Tribbey

Your boys scored
some runs for a change.

Nice day dawning.

Have a tune for you today … enjoy.

On the road again -
Just can't wait to get on the road again.
The life I love is making music with my friends

And I can't wait to get on the road again.
On the road again

Goin' places that I've never been.
Seein' things that I may never see again

And I can't wait to get on the road again.
On the road again -
Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
We're the best of friends.
Insisting that the world keep turning our way

And our way
is on the road again.
Just can't wait to get on the road again.
The life I love is makin' music with my friends

And I can't wait to get on the road again.
On the road again

Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
We're the best of friends

Insisting that the world keep turning our way

And our way
is on the road again.
Just can't wait to get on the road again.
The life I love is makin' music with my friends

And I can't wait to get on the road again.
And I can't wait to get on the road again.

Dear Beverly

Just stopped by to say hello.

         You remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal, Beverly Carvajal, Ralph Tribbey

We won’t talk about
your boys this morning.

Nice day ahead.
Lots to do,
must get to it.

But always; always,
no matter the hurry,
to take just a few
moments to celebrate
your memory.

That’s my promise.

You were never really alone,
You thought you were.

You are not alone now.

Have a tune for you today … enjoy.

Country Roads, old theatre marquee signs;
Parkin' lots, and billboards flyin' by.
Spanish mosques, little hick town squares;
Wild roses on a river bank: girl its almost like you're there

Oh, every mile, a memory; every song, another scene,
From some old movie going back in time you and me.
Every day, a page turned down; every night, a lonesome sound,
Like a freight train rollin' through my dreams:
Every mile, a memory.

Red sun down, out across the western sky,
Takes me back to the fire in your eyes.
Texas stars in a purple night.
Not seein' 'em with you baby: oh, they never do it right, no.

Every mile, a memory; every song, another scene,
From some old movie going back in time you and me.
Every day, a page turned down; every night, a lonesome sound,
Like a freight train rollin' through my dreams:
Every mile, a memory.

Funny how no matter where I run,
Round every bend I only see,
Just how far I haven't come.

Every mile, a memory; every song, another scene,
From some old movie going back in time you and me.
Every day, a page turned down; every night, a lonesome sound,
Like a freight train rollin' through my dreams:
Every mile, a memory;
Every mile, a memory;
Every mile, a memory.

Dear Beverly

Just stopped by to say hello.

         Oh Doll, you remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal, Beverly Carvajal, Ralph Tribbey

As long as Kershaw is pitching
your boys have a shot.

Another gem.
Another win.

Still at the bottom.

         Oh wells.

Have a tune for you today …

A new one from Lady A.

You're always on my mind
Lord knows you're in my heart”

I pray so.

… enjoy.

The sunset falls in Wichita, yellow dances through the blue
Wheat fields catch a glimpse of heaven, makes me think of you
And even when you're miles away,
You're always on my mind
Lord knows you're in my heart
Even when I close my eyes

You are golden,
Precious as a prayer flying up through the air
While the rain is falling
Golden, timeless as a kiss
Baby I don't wanna miss another perfect moment
To tell you, how you make me feel
The day you strolled in, my heart was stolen
Cause you are golden

Smallest parts of who you are
Are everything to me
From the way you laugh to the way you cry
To the way you love on me
Shadows run and darkness fades
When you come around
My single star amongst the gray
Always shining down

Yeah you are golden,
Precious as a prayer flying up through the air
While the rain is falling
Golden, timeless as a kiss
Baby I don't wanna miss another perfect moment
To tell you, how you make me feel
The day you strolled in, my heart was stolen
Cause you are golden

Lovely
Oh so hard to find
Yeah you are goodness, forgiveness
Of the purest kind
Oh yeah

From the day you strolled in, my heart was stolen
You'll be the hand I'm holding,
When the heavens open
Cause you are golden, yeah.

Dear Beverly

        You remembered me.

Always.

Beverly Ann Kegley Carvajal, Beverly Carvajal, Ralph Tribbey

Nice morning.

Your boys left town,
perhaps they will
do better on the road.

You would not be happy
with their cellar-dweller ways.

Have a tune for you today …

A new one,
I think you would
have liked it.

… enjoy.

I wish I could take a cab down to the creek
And hang a disco ball from an old oak tree
Smoke and drink once in a while
Somehow it’d be good for me
I want a cool chick that’ll cook for me
But’ll dance on the bar in her tan bare feet
And do what I want when I want and she’ll do it with me

I don’t need too much of nothing
I just wanna sing a little chill song
Get my groove on
Pour something strong
Down in my drink
Oh, I know
That I don’t need a whole lot of anything
I just want a little bit of everything
Na na na na, na na na na
I just want a little bit of everything
Na na na na, na na na na

Now I don’t need a garage full of cars
But I’ll take a whole box of Cuban cigars
And I’ll smoke ‘em nice and slow
Like they were good for me
Don’t need a ranch or a big piece of land
But I like to get a little bit of dirt on my hands
A big ole couch in a big ole room
Still feels lonely when it’s just you
Yes it does

I don’t need too much of nothing
I just wanna sing a little chill song
Get my groove on
Pour something strong
Down in my drink
Oh, I know
That I don’t need a whole lot of anything
I just want a little bit of everything
Na na na na, na na na na

A little bit of everything
Under the sun
So, when I kick back basking in it
I’ll be OK with what I’ve done
Still having fun

Cause I don’t need too much of nothing
I just wanna sing a little chill song
Get my groove on
Pour something strong
Down in my drink
Oh, I know
That I don’t need a whole lot of anything
I just want a little bit of everything
Na na na na, na na na na
I just want a little bit of everything
Na na na na, na na na na
I just want a little bit of everything
Yeah yea yea
Whoa, whoa, oh yeah
